Rachel received a BA in Mass Communications with a minor in Expressive Art Therapy from Bradford College. She furthered her education and received a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and Drama Therapy from California Institute of Integral Studies in San Francisco.
For the past 22 years, she has worked in the mental health field with various organizations including Telecare, Caminar, Abode and Crestwood Behavioral Health providing individual and group counseling, case management, creative arts therapies, and dual diagnosis treatment. She has worked in inpatient acute psychiatric facilities, residential treatment programs, outpatient treatment, and drug and alcohol rehabilitation for teens.
Rachel has received extensive training in DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Crisis Communication and WRAP/Seeking Safety, and has created original content for and led groups in Anger Management, Reducing Stigma, Creative Arts in Recovery, and Leadership Skills. She especially enjoys groups featuring the use of Drama, Photography, Writing, Art, and Doll Therapy.
Rachel has a special interest in helping others navigate the mental health system and improve feelings of autonomy. Rachel joined the Life Adjustment Team in 2023.
